Bruce Perry

“I love helping organizations adapt to change without losing sight of what really matters. By working with leaders, teams, and company culture, I create practical ways for businesses to grow and succeed over the long run." In addition to his professional work, Bruce chairs the Amathuba Foundation, which reflects his commitment to helping others excel. He also enjoys coaching rugby, participating in Ironman triathlons, and spending quality time with his family. He holds a degree in Organizational Psychology and Sociology and is an accredited coach with various assessment qualifications. What drives Bruce is the chance to help others unlock their potential and make a meaningful impact.

Gratitude Mahlangu

“My passion for financial planning stems from wanting to empower those around me with financial education. I believe it is important for us to learn how to have an open and healthy relationship with money so we can be enabled to pursue our unique happiness.” Currently working at Rand Merchant Bank, Gratitude is a wealth and advice professional in financial literacy and goal-based financial planning. She particularly enjoys the personalized experience she builds with clients through interactive financial planning that empowers and educates them.

Aphiwe Mthalane

“I am a networker who is driven by connecting people together through opportunities of engagement that contribute to the greater good of his country and society.” A former recipient of a Frank Jackson and Allan Gray Scholarship at both primary and high school respectively, Aphiwe is able to add enormous value to Amathuba's blueprint. Aphiwe is currently a Friendraiser of Michaelhouse, an independent senior boys boarding school in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.

Chris and Ali Kingsley

Chris and Ali are passionate educators who have spent the last 20 years involved in projects across various schools, focusing on supporting young people. They often discuss missed opportunities at their dinner table and seek real solutions to challenges in their country. They feel energized by inspiring stories of young people who have been given a chance to succeed. Having worked in privileged school settings, they know many people want to help and make a difference. Chris believes in taking action to drive change and is hopeful about the possibilities in South Africa. He is the Director of Community Engagement at Hilton College and co-founder of the Sport for Lives movement. Ali serves as the full-time Executive Director of the Amathuba Foundation.

Magdel Hounsom

“My passion is people, and people from all walks of life! I love to walk alongside families, and through many hours of heart chats, counselling and OT sessions, to help both parents and their children to thrive.” Magdel is a passionate occupational therapist with a heart for helping children from all walks of life. She has served both privileged communities and impoverished communities with her expert skills and believes in bringing the two together wherever possible. Her greatest is her little family of four, and spending pockets of quality time together daily.
